Hi There!
My name is Diane. I'm a Jersey City mom and the proud owner of World of Wonder Childcare Center (WOW) and Wowkids, LLC in Hoboken. I am also one of the owners of Park View Academy in Jersey City, NJ.
After spending a decade in corporate America, I opened my childcare business. Following my departure from Merrill Lynch in late 2006, I dedicated an entire year in 2007 to researching our local Hoboken community's childcare needs and logistics. On January 2nd, 2008, I had the joy of opening the doors to World of Wonder Childcare Center.
My journey into motherhood began when I became a first-time mom in June 2003. This milestone also began my internal conflict as a working mother. I was torn between my desire to continue my career, guilt about not staying home with my daughter, and the anxiety of entrusting someone else with her care. The emotional struggle was overwhelming and frustrating.
However, I was sure I would be a better mom, wife, and friend if I remained a working mother. After years of trying to find the "right" balance between motherhood and career, navigating a challenging nanny experience, receiving endless support from my husband, and conducting extensive research, the WOW family was born.
One of the most invaluable lessons I've learned through motherhood is the immense benefit of fostering a supportive social network around my family. This understanding drives my goal as a childcare owner: to make WOW your home away from home and help you build a community where you can cultivate lifelong relationships for yourself and your children. This approach helps families transition smoothly into this exciting new chapter.
When I'm not at work, I'm spending quality time with my family at home, dancing to Latin music in Zumba class, or being a tourist in my own city.
